When my husband and I decided to renovate our kitchen we did our homework. We shopped around and got many quotes and ideas from kitchen designers around the city as well as from many design magazines. We appreciated the time Katherine spent with us listening to our ideas as well as presenting her own ideas and design experience, while letting us make our own decisions along the way. Many of the things Katherine offered were unique from other places we visited and we felt with the design that was presented to us we were maximizing every inch of space in our kitchen, which was very important because we are limited in space in our house.
Once we decided to go with Southern Kitchens and the cabinets were first installed with but with no trim, we knew we had definitely made the right decision. It looked so good, I would have been happy if they had stopped right there! However, the attention to detail with the additional trim and moldings just made them that much more special. That attention to detail and the craftsmanship involved with the cabinets installed is what sets Southern Kitchens apart from their competitors. Chris, our cabinet installer, was awesome; I am still impressed with his work every time I come home and look at them.
Katharine is incredible and was always available for questions the entire time. I appreciate her recommendations at finishing pieces such as light fixtures, hoods, and sinks. I looked to her a lot for answers as the project was moving along, and I never felt alone. Katherine was my consultant, working with me each step of the way to make sure this kitchen happens as smooth as possible. She assisted me through the process from beginning to end. I also appreciated her professional feedback.

Wow! What an experience! When our remodeler, Joe French, suggested that Larry and I contact you for help with our bathrooms' cabinetry, never could we have imagined where it would lead. We had dealt with Southern Kitchens before, about 10 years ago, with an inexpensive bathroom sink cabinet, so we thought we knew what to expect. That first meeting with you, Mike, we were all over the place, looking at many woods, granite tops, and handles. Your patience, direction, and good humor eased us into making choices for our two bathrooms. Since we were removing linen closets and replacing the storage space with cabinets, it was crucial to have equal to or more storage while enlarging the floor space. Your respect for our budget made it easy to request a reconfiguration of the cabinets when needed.
After the bathrooms, it was an easy choice for you to help us with the kitchen. You had listened so well to our preferences for the bathrooms, you were able to lay out design, wood, and handle choices that delighted us and saved us time. Your visits to our home increased our confidence that you knew what was important to us. At the last minute, adding the breadbox for Larry was a special touch.

When it came time to remodel our kitchen we talked to five different kitchen companies and chose Southern Kitchens. Our choice was based on several things, not the least of which was Jenny Kessel. She proved to be very easy to work with, her professional but easy going ways were refreshing compared to others. She and my wife seemed to really "hit it off" which is important when undertaking a major job. Her expertise, suggestions and availability were greatly appreciated. The Southern Kitchen showroom is easy to get to if you live in Louisville and has an abundance of sample products from different manufacturers. We used a contractor that does a lot of their work and they also proved to be reliable, trustworthy and easy to work with. Our job was not just replacing cabinets, but totally changing the footprint by tearing out walls and enclosing a screened in porch. From start to finish Jenny and the contractor made the remodeling "most tolerable" as it could possibly be. Would definitely recommend Southern Kitchens to anyone.

On behalf of my husband and myself, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the work preformed by Mr. Mark Reed on the cabinetry which he recently installed for us from Southern Kitchens. Of all the work preformed at our home in the past month and a half, this is the only letter I am sending out commending the performance of an employee; and believe me, we have had a large number coming and going during this time frame.
Mr. Reed preformed his work in a professional yet courteous manner. I was amazed that he was able to install the entire system entirely by himself, which extended from ceiling to floor on three different walls, which included two pantries and an island which required assembling in the center of the room. The pantries, themselves required a great deal of extra work in finishing due to the shelving. Mark was required to make cuts in the shelving and placing trim work around each. I would be more then happy to send pictures if you require, in order to see how extensive the detail work was. I can’t begin to express how happy we are with the finished product.
During the entire process, Mark took no offence if I asked questions, but instead patiently answered them without being condescending, which was greatly appreciated. Mark was very personable, with a polite, friendly demeanor and was able to keep me at ease while he assembled the cabinetry. Believe me, I’m a perfectionist, so this was no easy accomplishment.
You seldom find employees in today’s society that take pride in their work. Mr. Reed is a consummate professional and it was obvious in his finished product. He preformed his work in a timely manner and accomplished a professionally finished product which greatly met my husband’s and my expectations. We believe Mr. Reed is an asset to your company and a fine representative for Southern Kitchens.

I first met the owner of Southern Kitchens, John Anderson, fifteen years ago when I was working for a national builder here in Louisville. Our company contacted Southern Kitchens for a proposal to supply cabinets for homes we constructed.
